Garden of Hope is no longer accepting applications
Garden of Hope opened its doors early in 2011 with the faithful giving of our partners. We have had two steadfast and successful residents as well as successfully mentored one young lady (non-resident) weekly. Our first resident, Jenny, started the Genesis Program and gave her testimony on several occasions, most recently to the Gresham Area Chamber of Commerce. Our non-resident mentee successfully began and facilitated a weekly 12 Step meeting in the home. Our second successful resident came to us by attending one of these meetings. We feel confident in the new legacy each of these women embraced as they stepped forward into a life of recovery and reaching out to others in need. As we approached the fall of 2011, we encountered a difficult challenge. Because of the difficulty of raising adequate support we had to stop operating as we currently were and began helping our women transition.
God has provided for us a faithful team of volunteers who planned and led our fundraising events, two weekly office volunteers, an active Board of Directors, a talented office manager and approximately fifteen women who volunteered several hours a month to work one on one with our residents. A special thank you to all these volunteers for their faithful service.
And to our financial supporters: thank you for your immediate responses to our financial needs, for your concern and care to provide for our women a home while they began to seek employment, and for your prayers. Thank you also for your prayers for the Board of Directors during this transition while we remain open to what God has in store for the future of Garden of Hope.
